Robustfellow Dig series release #2
Thank You Iceland was a rock band that formed in 2009 in Kyiv, Ukraine, bringing together desert and garage rock notes with a dash of psychedelic flavor. Taking inspiration from legendary bands like Queens of the Stone Age and Black Sabbath, as well as a variety of stoner rock bands, Thank You Iceland developed a distinctive sound that was both powerful and melodic.
The band consisted of Serhiy Morgunov on vocals, Andriy Tkachenko on guitar/vocals, Bogdan Zmorovich on lead guitar, Gosha Tyhyi on drums, and Oleksiy Axenov on bass.
In 2014, Thank You Iceland was disbanded due to circumstances beyond their control. The war in Ukraine had erupted, forcing the band members to scatter across the globe.
But despite their early dissolution, Thank You Iceland's music lives on in their latest EP release. The four-track EP showcases the band's unique sound and style, from the pulsating rhythms of "Pandora" to the swampy and atmospheric "Ruins."
